Can I custom size any of these doors?
Yes. The Spectrum® stock doors of Encore™, Luxtra®
and Woodshire® widths can be increased by using the Spectrum® Expansion Sets. In addition you can order a true custom size to fit most heights or widths by special ordering from the Express One™ collection.

Do all of the folding door models have
expansion sets?
No. Only Encore™, Luxtra®,
and Woodshire® doors.

Can I remove panels to make my door smaller
in width?
You can only remove panels from Oakmont®, Encore™, Luxtra®, or Woodshire® doors.

Can I remove any of the small panels on the ends
of the door?
No. Doing so would not allow the door
to stack compactly when opened.

Instead of buying expansion sets, can I attach
two doors together for a single door opening?
You cannot join two doors together as a single door. Please see our Express One™/ Express One Plus™
for these needs.

Can I continue to add more expansion sets than what is recommended? We advise only adding up to
5 expansion sets to one door. The track provided with the door is 72" and is not available in longer lengths.

Can I Cut the Door? Yes. The Height of any of
the Spectrum® Folding Doors can be trimmed. Our recommendation is to use a fine-toothed hacksaw.
If you choose to use a power saw, we suggest a miter
saw. When preparing to cut the door, stack it together
and secure it with masking tape. Hold the saw level to
the panels and make a straight cut through the entire door, making sure the panels do not shift while you are cutting. On some models, you must replace the bottom hinge screws. Please see our trimming instructions for further details and illustrations.

Do I need to allow room at the bottom so the door does not drag on the carpet? No. There is a standard 3/4" deduction for bottom clearance on every door. When cutting the doors, you should cut the exact difference from 80" (i.e.: If the finished opening measures 77"h, 3" needs to be cut).

Why are some of the panels dragging on the floor? Most likely, the door has been cut and the bottom hinge screws have not been replaced. Please remove the bottom hinge screws from the piece that was cut off and reinsert them into the new, finished bottom.

How do I anchor the door with the Channel Clips, and what do I do with the Closure Channel? The Channel Clips are to be screwed directly on to the anchor side doorjamb. We suggest using the Closure Channel as an alignment tool simply because it has predrilled holes to mark the jamb. Once you have made the marks on the jamb, set the Closure Channel aside and screw the Channel Clips to the jamb. The Closure Channel is then installed on the opposite side of the jamb for the door to close in to.

Do I need to use the Closure Channels when installing a double door? It is not necessary, but
it does give the appearance of a more finished look.

Are there Closure Channels for the Via® or Contempra® door? No. In the case of a double door, the doors latch together with magnets.

How do the doors stay closed? Depending on the model, there are 1 or 2 magnets on each door. The Panache™ model is the only exception to this; it includes a Closure Channel lined with two rubber strips that will "grab" the lead edge and secure it in the channel.

Is there a lock available? Yes. The Spectrum® Folding Door Lock is compatible with any of the Spectrum® Folding Doors.

Is there a key lock available? No.

Can any of the Spectrum® Folding Doors act as a sound barrier? No. These doors do not have any sound insulating qualities.

Is there a warranty on these doors? Yes. The Horizon®, Via®, and Contempra® have a one year warranty. The Oakmont® and Encore™ doors have
a 3-year warranty. The Panache®, Luxtra®, and
Woodshire® have a 5-year warranty.

What are the doors made of? All components of
the doors are Lead-Free vinyl except for the screws. Depending on the model, the panels are a single or double wall Lead Free vinyl, and the hinges are a soft, flexible Lead-Free vinyl.

Is it ok to install the Spectrum® Folding Doors for exterior use or to cover a window or sliding glass doors? No. These doors cannot withstand severe weather (i.e. cold, heat, direct sunlight, storms, etc.).

Is there a curved track available for the Spectrum® Folding Doors? No.

How should the doors be cleaned? They can be cleaned with warm soapy water or any non-abrasive household cleaner.

Can the doors be painted? We do not recommend painting these doors, which would most likely chip off of the panels or hinges.

Are replacement parts available? Yes. If you are in need of a replacement part, please contact our parts department 7am - 3:30pm EST Monday through Friday for assistance.
